Brian Loconsole

Brian Loconsole has one of the most unique stories in baseball. Cut three times in high school after making his freshman B team, Brian didn’t throw a pitch is his final three years of high school for Glenbard North in Carol Stream.

As a right handed pitcher, Loconsole earned his spot on the baseball team at Western Illinois as a walk on. After red shirting and losing his coach to an unfortunate passing during his freshman year, he headed to Moraine Valley Community College to pitch for a school for the first time since he was 15. He won pitcher of the year there and returned to WIU in 2011 where he didn’t see much of the field until his senior year. He was rewarded the closer role and a scholarship for his final season of college in 2013.

He went on to break the single-season record and career saves record at WIU and was drafted in the 20th round by the Los Angeles Angels. He was apart of the 2015 MLB Spring Training roster for the majority of the pre season. He had strung together a couple strong season in the minors making it as high as A+ ball.

Released in 2016 by the Angels, he signed his first Independent Ball contract with the Windy City Thunderbolts. After winning Pitcher of the Year, All Star MVP, and breaking the save record in 2017, Loconsole continued his professional independent career with the Lincoln Saltdogs and the Quebec Capitales. An unfortunate injury brought Loconsole‘s career to a halt in 2018.

He has been coaching and mentoring young athletes through physical training, pitching, and hitting since 2012. Graduating from Western Illinois in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, he understands the game and can speak on it from many different levels and has a talent for getting deeper inside the mental aspect of the game. He has a knack for coaching and has proven to help young athletes in the baseball world gain knowledge of the game and focus on their strengths and weaknesses, all while working towards their dream of being a big leaguer.
